A workshop on the corner of Ladysmith and Eastern Avenues could be converted into a one-bedroom terraced house if plans are approved by Tendring District Council.
The workshop is attached to a Victorian house at 7 Ladysmith Avenue, which was formerly a doctor’s surgery and children’s nursery before reverting to residential use in 2013.
The proposal (shown below) would see the single-storey workshop – currently used for the manufacture of small machine tools – gain a first-floor extension, a new entrance door, windows and a rendered finish.
The planning statement submitted to the council says that no indoor or amenity space will be lost in the conversion, and adds that one of three existing car parking spaces on the property would be allocated to the new build.
