The first To Whom It May Concern spoken word event in Brightlingsea helped to raise awareness and funds for Brightlingsea Foodbank.

Held in Ye Olde Swan, the evening featured local poets, musicians and writers including Stephen Foster-Pilkington, Stacey Holland, Deborah Klee and David Evans, with others taking part in an open mic lineup who spoke on the theme of homelessness and mental health.

Brightlingsea Foodbank coordinator Win Pomroy gave a brief talk on the support offered, including the having someone from CAB available on Wednesdays, the new bus vouchers scheme and passing donated used mobiles on to those without, and the adult literacy support available at Brightlingsea Library.

A raffle with prizes donated by local businesses raised £52.
