Hometown Half runners’ efforts help to plant trees

Hometown Half runners pass Brightlingsea boating lake on the way to the finish

A half-marathon from Colchester to Brightlingsea will help to plant over 500 trees in Africa.

Over 50 runners took part in the Hometown Half on April 14, organised by event business Eveson Row & Co, which has an office on Brightlingsea’s Morses Lane Industrial Estate.

Starting at the Hythe, the route took runners along the River Colne and Alresford Creek to the finish on Promenade Way.

The organisers work with climate action organisation Ecologi, and pledged to plant 10 trees for every runner taking part in the half-marathon.
