Tendring District Council’s former offices in Weeley are set to be auctioned off in October as part of a money-saving exercise by the authority.
The building has been empty for some time and the council says it costs around £65,000 a year to maintain.
The two acre site the building sits within has been allocated for housing in the Tendring District local plan.
The site is being offered with a guide price of £650,000 to £750,000 and includes the main office building — complete with council chambers and chairman’s parlour — plus a warehouse, additional offices, and storage units. One unit is currently tenanted under a monthly licence agreement.
The Chelmsford office of auctioneers Clive Emson is handling the sale.
