Planning for next year’s series of Brightlingsea WinterFest arts, music and spoken word events is well under way – but there’s room for more.
Events planned for February 2024 include a performance of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, open mic, comedy and music nights, nature walks and runs, music in the library, a rum and reggae party, a candlelit concert and more.
For the second year running, a literary festival organised by local writers and poets will run alongside WinterFest, featuring meet-the-author events and workshops.
Over the last decade, WinterFest has raised thousands of pounds for Mid and NE Essex Mind, with thousands more going to the WinterFest Wellbeing Fund, which supports individuals and organisations in Brightlingsea.
The WinterFest team is meeting in the Railway Tavern on October 31 at 6pm. If anyone would like to offer help with organising and stewarding, or has ideas for other events that could be incorporated, they’re welcome to attend.
