Brightlingsea’s month-long WinterFest is gearing up for its big finale, following on from three hugely successful weeks packed with music, arts, spoken word and wellbeing activities.
The festival, now in its eleventh year, promises to finish in style and has lined up a wide variety of attractions for the weekend.
Forthcoming WinterFest events kick off with a rock and punk night at The Railway pub on Friday, February 27.
A double bill of comedy and music on Saturday, February 28, from 7pm at the Colne Yacht Club, will feature events new to Brightlingsea WinterFest – a live radio play called I Love IKEA, followed by a fun Abba Singalong.
Men are invited to come along to a free Mental Health Matters session especially for them on Saturday at the King’s Head, from 2pm to 8pm, where they can hear talks and music and meet therapists.
WinterFest’s much-loved Creative Wellbeing Weekend, is happening on Saturday February 28 and Sunday March 1. The weekend offers a wide variety of arts and crafts taster sessions, plus mindful photography and writing sessions with a beach walk. The activities will be based at Brightlingsea Sailing Club and will also include a Bake-Off competition, on Sunday, March 1.
The Runners of Brightlingsea have organised a community 5k or 10k run, jog or walk on Sunday and the course, starting at 9am from Brightlingsea Sailing Club, takes in Brightlingsea Prom and the old railway line next to the River Colne.
