A new home for memorials to Brightlingsea folk has been unveiled – the newly refurbished shelter on the town’s promenade.
Brightlingsea Town Council (BTC) has installed the first plaque in the shelter, which is next to the Lido and looks out over the creek and out to sea.
The tribute to John Kavanagh was fitted after a request from his family, who said he loved the town and often walked his dog, Molly, along the prom.
In a statement, BTC said: “W e often receive requests for memorial benches and plaques for loved ones and are pleased that this calm space has become available in order for us to accommodate the wishes of residents.”
