Brightlingsea’s Railway Tavern pub is up for sale.

After six years in the Station Road pub, hosts Sarah and Alex Capon and family have decided to move on.

Since taking it over, the couple have carried out extensive improvemements to the pub, installing a lounge bar, terrace and professional kitchen.

Under their ownership, the Railway has won Tendring CAMRA’s Pub of the Year award twice and been featured in the national Good Beer Guide. It’s annual cider and perry festival takes place over the May Bank Holiday weekend.

Agents Sidney Phillips has the freehold pub on the market for £595,00 and describe it as a “profitable business with room for further growth” with four-bedroomed accommodation.
