Essex police arrested three men in the early hours of May 12 after being called to Red Barn Road, Brightlingsea, following reports of someone trying to steal a catalytic converter from a vehicle.
Officers later identified a suspect vehicle in Clacton, which was forced to stop after a pursuit.
According to the Essex Police Facebook Page, a 35 year-old and a 39 year-old were arrested on suspicion of failing to stop for police, theft from a vehicle, and going equipped, and a 29 year-old was arrested on suspicion of going equipped, theft of a motor vehicle, and failing to stop for police. All were detained in custody. Police have appealed for witnesses, or anyone with any CCTV, dash cam or doorbell footage to contact them.
