Sing to Save Lives – a concert held in Brightlingsea to mark the 200th anniversary of the RNLI – raised £1,518 for the lifeboat charity.
Organised by Alison Benz, the sellout event in St James’ Church featured the Women in Harmony choir, members of the Motley Crew and pianist Declan Flannery. The combined choir performed some specially-written songs to commemorate the RNLI anniversary.
It also saw the first outing for songs from the Tiles Along the Wall project, which tells the story behind some of the commemorative tiles in All Saints’ Church that mark the deaths at sea of Brightlingsea sailors.
