Tendring District Council (TDC) has signed up to a plan to manage recycling and waste across Essex for the next 30 years.
The Waste Strategy for Essex sets out how the Essex Waste Partnership (EWP) will work to reduce the impact of waste on the environment, promote more re-use and recycling and reduce costs.
Over 4,500 people responded to an Essex County Council consultation on the plan last year, and their feedback was used to develop the final version. TDC formally adopted the plan on Spetember 20, and will use it to develop the new waste and recycling service scheduled for 2026.
Councillor Peter Schwier, chairman of the Essex Waste Partnership, said: “We’re pleased that Tendring District Council has formally adopted the Waste Strategy for Essex. The vision of the strategy is to rethink waste – by everyone working together, we will reduce waste and reuse and recycle more. This will protect the environment and save resources.”
