Picture this: local artists feature in tiny gallery

Does Brightlingsea now boast the smallest art gallery in Essex?

The team behind the Art Hut, based in the old hardmaster’s hut at the top of the Hard, reckon that the town probably does.

The tiny gallery opened over the Regatta weekend, featuring jewellery, pots, paintings, wall hangings and more – all created by local artists.

“We looked at the hut standing empty and just thought ‘what a waste'” said Jill Clegg, one of the team behind the hut’s conversion.

Some of the proceeds from sales will go towards the rent of the hut from the town council and local charities will benefit, too.

Regular opening hours are yet to be confirmed.
