Fresh Air Festival is returning to Brightlingsea for its fifth consecutive year with an action-packed day of street theatre, comedy, acrobatics and outdoor fun.
The festival – at Promenade Way on Satuday, September 12 from 11am-5pm – promises to be a memorable day out for all the family with its programme of high quality arts companies, performing shows, walkabout acts and much more.
Festival highlights include:
- Mr & Mr Burn – a comical double act with big dose of trombone, tuba, baritone uke and electronic drums, plus clowning, puppetry, fire and pyrotechnics;
- The Variety Spectacular – eccentric dance, circus skills, classic song and Houdini style escapology;
- L’Hotel with Circo Rum Ba Ba – watch as the smallest hotel in the world comes alive using acrobatics, globe walking, trumpeting and mime mayhem,.
- Walkabout performances from Team BGee and their disco pop, the Love Postman who’ll be delivering love letters in the most bizarre and hilarious ways, an enormous automated roving giant foot and energetic aliens String & Strong.
There’ll also be the chance to try aerial circus skills in an all day workshop, listen to beguiling stories with Cloudscapes and enjoy musical mayhem with the High Priestess of Pop. Community stalls and local artists will be joining the festival, along with giant bubbles from Grethe Mangala Jensen, the ever popular circus and games area, creative workshops in a double decker bus with Karen Ketchup and face painting from Pith Party.
The festival is made possible thanks to funding from Arts Council England, the UK Shared Prosperity Fund via Tendring District Council, FSJ Charities and Town & Country Residential Sales & Lettings.
Food and drink will be available on site. with free parking available on the field next to the festival site. Ear defenders are available for those with access requirements.
