Mental health charity benefits from Brightlingsea WinterFest

WinterFest donation - Daisy Taylor of Mid & North Essex Mind, centre, with WinterFest’s Dave Griffiths and Jacque McAlpine

Brightlingsea WinterFest has given a welcome boost to the mental health charity, Mid and North East Essex Mind, with a donation of £1,316.

The donation represented 20 per cent of the money raised at this year’s Brightlingsea WinterFest, the town’s annual month-long festival of music, arts, spoken word and wellbeing activities in February.

WinterFest co-founder Dave Griffiths said: “It is always humbling to see how many people are prepared to come and support WinterFest and we have had such positive feedback from them. Most of our events are free and when people do generously give donations they know that the money will go back into the community, through WinterFest’s Wellbeing Fund, which helps local people with their mental, physical and social wellbeing, and to Mind.”

Daisy Taylor, Community and Events Fundraiser for Mid and North East Essex Mind said: “We are so grateful to WinterFest 2026 for their very kind donation. Our services simply could not exist without support like this, which makes such a difference to the lives of so many people.”
