Group marks a year of stroke support in Brightlingsea

Brightlingsea Stroke Support Services has marked its first birthday with a visit from Brightlingsea Mayor Ric Morgan and Deputy Steve Archer.

Supported by specialists from Tendring Stroke Support Services with financial help from the the Cinque Port Liberty of Brightlingsea – which has raised over £20,000 – the group now helps over 20 stroke survivors with physiotherapy, health and general welfare.

The group, which meets at Brightlingsea Regent Football Club, also provides hydrotherapy and swimming sessions in the town to help survivors.

Anyone who has suffered a stroke is welcome to visit to talk to the group’s stroke nurse practitioner and other professionals, or just to have a cup of tea or coffee. The service is free.

The group meets every Monday from 2-4pm.
