Decorated Christmas trees pull in the festival crowds

Winners: lerft to right - I’m dreaming of a White Christmas by Amy Carter; Chrittermas Tree from 4th Brightlingsea Ottawa Beavers; Brightlingsea Gingerbread Tree from The Colne Community School.

Decorated trees drew big crowds to Brightlingsea’s annual Christmas Tree Festival at All Saints Church over the weekend of December 13 & 14, held to raise funds for local churches.

This year’s event featured over 60 imaginatively-decorated trees created by local families, community groups and local businesses, with the winners chosen by popular vote.

Aongside the trees, 86 musicians – including handbell ringers, pianists, singers and more – performed throughout the weekend, while a free shuttle bus covered over 15o miles ferrying visitors to the festival from the town centre and Colne School car park.  There was more music on the Saturday evening at a concert given by the Marenzio singers.

The winners were:

1st Mother Christmas from Springmead Garden; 2nd Holy Cow from Mending Matters (pictured below).

Child Individual
