Brightlingsea Primary School is looking for a “dedicated individual” to join its governing body as a co-opted governor.

Governors work closely with school leaders to set strategic direction, ensure accountability, and support the school’s development. The school says co-opted governors don’t need to be a parent or have a background in education – “just a passion for helping children succeed and a willingness to contribute your skills”.

Candidates need to commit to attending termly governing body meetings and “be eager to help shape the school’s vision and priorities”. The current governing body is 14-strong, and comprises the head teacher, parents, local authority representatives and co-opted governors.
