A solicitor’s office and home in Brightlingsea town centre could become a single dwelling if planners approve the change.
The owner of 1 Ladysmith Avenue, Jane Pleass, has applied to Tendring District Council for change of use from mixed commercial/residential to single dwellinghouse.
A supporting planning statement says: “The property has demonstrated limited demand in its mixed-use form. The commercial element is not attractive to occupiers or purchasers in this location. The proposed change to a single residential dwelling reflects market conditions and represents the most viable use.”
The external appearance of the building, which is in the town’s conservation area, won’t be altered.
