Brightlingsea Regent FC is searching for a new sponsor following the announcement that current backer Taydal Surfacing has withdrawn its support for the 2020/21 season.
Ipswich-based Taydal has sponsored the club for the last three years, with the North Road stadium bearing its name. In a statement on its website, the club said: “The partnership with Wayne Dale and his team at Taydal Surfacing has been crucial for the football club in helping to secure the budget needed to survive in the Isthmian Premier Division. They, along with all of our sponsors, have made sure the football club survives in very challenging times.”
The statement continued: “Sadly for the club and the footballing community in Brightlingsea, Taydal are unable to commit for the 2020/21 season. We as a club would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Wayne and Taydal for everything they have done in supporting us and we hope that in the not too distant future we will welcome them back to the club in some capacity.”
Regent’s chairman Terry Doherty said that Taydal’s sponsorship “has been instrumental in helping us maintain our step three status and has given our volunteer staff a huge leg up when it comes to raising funds. We send the company our best wishes and sincerely hope that like ourselves they will get through this difficult time and continue to be successful”.
Doherty added: “This does now present a great opportunity for a new business to come on board and promote their brand in a high profile way around Essex, plus all of the South -East as far away as Worthing. As well as the press and radio coverage we receive we have a very large social media following where the name of the stadium is always in the forefront especially on match days and when news items are released by the club.”
