New website offers support for unpaid carers in Essex

A new online service for unpaid carers has launched with aims including reducing their burden and reducing isolation.

The service, launched by Essex County Council, will provide information, advice and guidance to help carers maintain their own wellbeing and resilience. There will also be information available to help people identify as a carer and the support available to them.

Virtual training is also available and there’ll be expert carers are on-hand to provide moral support and share useful hints and tips.

Councillor John Spence, cabinet member for children’s services, adult social care, public health and integration said: “Unpaid carers make a real difference to those they support and the wider community. They are not always able to access in person services so this new offer will make sure they always have somewhere to go for support when they need it. By providing this sort of support unpaid carers are able to continue their caring role and look after themselves too.”
