Have you seen Max? Brightlingsea’s much-loved moggy has been missing for more than two weeks and his owner is desperate to have him home.
Max has gone missing twice before as a result of being taken – once ending up in Luton after a visiting family thought he was a stray. Now Max’s ‘Mum’ Georgie Dunt fears something similar may have happened again.
Writing on the Max’s Missions Facebook page, Georgie, who’s recently had a baby, said: “This isn’t the first time Max has gone missing. But every time he does it’s because someone has stolen him and taken him away from his home.”
She added: “Max has been missing since 30th Nov and is causing a lot of worry for those that love him. Whoever has taken him, please return him to Brightlingsea as soon as possible.”
Chalets on the Brightlingsea Leisure Village – some of which are now shut up for the winter – have been searched to no avail. In the summer Max – well-known to visitors and residents for his strolls along the Prom and his visits to beach huts and the Lido – was found in Suffolk after being spotted in a Facebook post by a woman in Hartlepool who follows Max’s Facebook page.
If anyone spots Max, contact Georgie via Facebook, or you can email or call Brightlingsea Info on 01206 305677.
