Volunteers serve up Christmas lunch for Brightlingsea residents

Nearly 80 Brightlingsea residents – many of whom would otherwise have been alone on Christmas Day – enjoyed a festive lunch paid for by the Deputy’s Gift Fund.

The lunch was the 55th Christmas day event organised and prepared by the Canham family, with the help of friends and volunteers. A meal and live entertainment was provided in Brightlingsea Sailing Club for 47 residents, while another 29 had lunch delivered to their homes.

The Deputy of the Cinque Port Liberty of Brightlingsea, Iain Werngren, thanked all those who helped, and those whose donations helped provide goodie bags.
