Therapy sessions for stroke survivors to begin in Brightlingsea

A new clinic for stroke survivors will open in Brightlingsea next month, funded by money raised by The Deputy and Lady Deputy of The Cinque Port Liberty.

The two-hour sessions have been made possible thanks to £12,000 raised through donations and charity events during Mark and Debbie Wilby’s 2022 year in office.

The clinic, run by Tendring Specialist Stroke Services (TSSS), will run every Monday at the Brightlingsea Regent Football Club in North Road.

Therapeutic rehabilitation services will be available for anyone who has had a stroke, needs a chat with a specialist nurse or just wants to come and speak to other stroke survivors over a free cup of tea or coffee.

A physiotherapist, specialist nurse and a well-being nurse will be available to offer help and advice to support recovery, and there’ll also be some fitness equipment available.

Starting on April 3, the sessions will run on Mondays, except bank holidays, between 2pm – 4pm.

For more information, see the TSSS website.
