The Brightlingsea Pram Race – once a feature of the town’s carnival – will take to the streets again in August.

The race is being revived by the team behind Brightlingsea’s Late Night Shopping event, which takes place in December. Pram race teams of two are invited to dress up and compete for first place and best dressed prizes.

The race, scheduled for 3pm on Saturday, August 16, is open to over 18s only, with the proceeds from the entry fee of £25 – which includes a half pint of beer at each stop – going towards running the Late Night Shopping event.
