Sport clubs, coaches and health and wellness champions are being invited to attend Tendring’s first Sports and Activity Conference later this month.
Tendring District Council (TDC) will be hosting the event at the Princes Theatre in Clacton on Monday, 19 May, from 12 noon to 5pm.
The event will feature discussions, hands-on workshops and networking opportunities aimed at making Tendring a more active and healthier place to live. Interactive sessions will cover topics including promoting sport and physical activity and developing and enhancing clubs or organisations. Information about funding opportunities will also be available.
Brightlingsea councillor Mick Barry, cabinet member for leisure and public realm at TDC, said: “By supporting local clubs, organisations, and partners, we can help more people become active and improve their health and wellbeing, something that is a key part of our recently adopted Sport and Activity Strategy.
“It is fantastic opportunity for us to come together and make a real difference in our community – whether you’re a local sports club, health advocate, education professional, coach, or member of a town or parish council, this event is designed for you.”
