Scouts on the hunt for boating lake volunteers

Scouts on the boating lake
By:
Staff Reporter

Plenty of Brightlingsea folk learned to row and sail on the town’s boating lake. Now volunteers are being sought to help run boat hire there over the summer.

Boat hire on the Promenade Way lake has been run by the 4th Brightlingsea Scout Group for several years, helping to raise valuable funds for the scouts and beavers activities in the town.

The group is appealing for volunteers who can manage the rowing boat hire during the Easter, summer and half-term school holidays, as well as at weekends. Duties include taking money for boat hire and ensuring that waivers are signed. Lifejackets are available for children and adults.
