Over 1,000 Brightlingsea residents received vaccinations so far, says practice

Over 1,000 people registered with the Colne Medical Centre have had their first vaccination against Covid-19.

The figures, correct as of Tuesday, February 2, cover people aged over 75, while text invitations to over 70s clinically vulnerable patients are being sent out this week. Vaccinations have been carried out at Station Road surgery, Colchester, Clacton, and Walton and currently patients are being booked in at the latter two centres.

According to practice manager Katie Pirie, there are still a few over 80-year-olds in the town who have yet to be vaccinated and who will be contacted this week. Similarly, those aged over 75 who have no mobile phone or who have not responded to previous invitations are also being contacted to book an appointment.

“Thank you to our practice team, colleagues within the Colte Partnership and our volunteers for making this possible so far,” said Mrs Pirie.
