Council teamwork gets hedge trimmed

A “dangerously overgrown” hedge on Samsons Road, Brightlingsea, has been cut back in a joint effort by Brightlingsea Town (BTC) and Tendring District Councils.

The hedge was encroaching on to the highway, causing problems for motorists and cyclists. According to the town council, despite several reports of the problem to Essex County Council, no action had been taken.

Instead, the two local councils obtained the specialist equipment required to cut back the hedge, said to be “dangerously overgrown” by BTC.

“It is hoped that under the new coalition administration at Tendring, further service issues can be addressed by collaboration and a shared approach between the two council,” said a BTC statement.
