Brightlingsea sailor Eddie Bridle has continued his winning ways after taking top spot in the Musto Skiff national championships.

The 27-year-old member of Brightlingsea Sailing Club won the 11-race event from September 18-21 at Hayling Island with a race to spare, ending eight points ahead of the second-placed boat.

In July, Eddie won the Musto Skiff European championships in Germany and has previously won UK and French national championships in the singlehanded International Moth class, and nationals in the double-handed Cherub class, once as helm and twice crew with his father, Graham.

Fellow members of Brightlingsea Sailing Club put in a strong performance at the Hayling event. Club commodore Ben Clegg won all three races on a windy first day and finished seventh overall in the 36-boat fleet. Tom Scott finished 14th, Andy Whittle 24th and Tom Kyne 26th.
