Brightlingsea Museum hosts its first single artist exhibition

Engravings created by Barry Woodcock (inset) will be on display in Brightlingsea Museum

Local artist Barry Woodcock’s work will be on display at the first single artist exhibition to be held in Brightlingsea Museum.

Barry is a member of the Society of Wood Engravers and the exhibition will feature his still life, landscape and portait paintings, along with wood engravings – over 50 pieces in total.

Alongsde the artwork, on show in the museum’s gallery, will be a display of the tools used to create his highly intricate wood engravings.

The exhibition can be seen at the museum in Station Road every weekend from Saturday September 9 to Sunday October 8. Saturdays 11am-5pm and Sundays 2- 5pm. Admission is free, but donations are appreciated.

This is the first exhibition the museum has hosted by a single artist, in the dedicated gallery that is becoming a very popular venue for local artists and crafters to showcase their work and skills.
