Brightlingsea Museum is to host the first event in a county-wide scheme designed to encourage young people to visit museums throughout Essex.

The Station Road museum has been chosen from 18 Essex museums to launch the Wheels of Time scheme, which features mascot Roamin’ Rex. Saturday, June 29 will see the museum holding games and activities, offering badges  to collect and giving children the chance to meet various historical characters.

Admission is free, and the event runs from 11am to 4.30pm.
