Brightlingsea Creek - BHC to mark the extent of proposed development

Brightlingsea Harbour Commissioners – BHC – are planning to put out buoys in Brightlingsea Creek to mark the extent of the pontoons proposed as part of a new development by Morgan Marine.

The harbour authority’s move comes at the end of a statutory consultation process that it has been holding over the plans, which would see 90 new and 25 improved moorings and pontoons in the creek. The additional pontoons in the plans will project further towards the navigable channel, and the buoys should help people visualise their location.

The buoys will be put out on Monday, September 13. Low tide is at 10.47 and high water at 17.14, after which the buoys will be removed to prevent any obstruction to mooring holders during the hours of darkness.

BHC says it is anticipated a statutory response and report will be compiled for presentation to Tendring District Council’s planning department this month
