Brightlingsea Foodbank has received a £250 donation from the town’s branch of Stoneridge Estate Agents.
Branch manager Steve Haywood visited the Foodbank  and presented the cheque to Brightlingsea Foodbank coordinator, Win Pomroy.

Said Win: “We were delighted by this very generous donation. It will help us buy fresh food for our clients who cannot afford to buy food for themselves or their families due to unexpected emergencies – including the financial disruptions of Covid-19. The money will also help us add some festive fare to our food packs at Christmas.”

The Foodbank says it has seen a 200% increase in the use of its services during the pandemic and is expecting even more demand as fuel and food prices rise. Recently it appealed for festive items to add to Christmas packages.

•Brightlingsea Foodbank is based at the Parish Hall in Victoria Place and is open on Wednesdays from 10am to 12.30pm. For more information, call 07970 480968
