Girls and boys in the 4th Brightlingsea Ottawa colony made money boxes to collect change to buy items, working towards their money skills badges in the process. They also gathered items from family and friends.

RSPCA animal rescue officer Emma Baker visited the Beavers at their recent weekly meeting to collect the gifts, and took the opportunity to tell the children about her work.
