Autumn Centre chairman gets new arts role in Tendring

The chairman of Brightlingsea charity The Autumn Centre – which supports elderly and frail people – has joined Tendring District Council’s cabinet in a new role covering arts, culture and heritage.

The appointment will see Alresford district councillor Gary Scott take responsibility for the management of Clacton’s Princes Theatre, liason with the Arts Council and other intiatives in Tendring.

Cllr Scott can often be found working in the Autumn Centre’s shop in Victoria Place and has stood as a Liberal Democrat candidate for Brightlingsea in Essex County Council elections. He was chairman of Tendring District Council in 2023/24.
