The success of businesses run by two Brightlingsea women has been recognised in the Tendring4Growth awards.
Sarah Capon, the landlady of Brightlingsea pub The Railway Tavern, and Lucy Weaver, who runs Pink Parrot Pottery in Great Bentley, were both commended in the annual awards that mark the best of the district’s businesses.
Sarah was commended in the Women in Business category, while Lucy’s business was commended in the Creative and Culture category. There were over too nominations across all the award categories
Mary Newton, the cabinet member for business and economic growth at Tendring District Council, said she had been inspired by those at the award ceremony, which was held in the Princes Theatre, Clacton.
“There is always a risk that we focus too much on doom and gloom, and the Tendring4Growth awards shone a light on the amazing businesses and success stories we have in our district,” she commented.
