Brightlingsea will be celebrating its maritime heritage – and having plenty of fun – during the town’s annual regatta this weekend, July 26 &27.

From Brightlingsea Sailing Club to to the Hard, there’ll be host of stalls and events on both days with the official opening, by Town Mayor Chris Paveley and Deputy Iain Werngren taking place at noon on the Saturday at the Colne Yacht Club

On-water activities include yacht, dinghy and rowing races, a parade of sail by traditional vessels, along with the opportunity to try paddleboarding, gig rowing, dinghy and keelboat sailing and powerboating.

Other events include a rubber duck race, cadets’ ‘It’s a Knockout’ and musical performances. Both yacht club and sailing club bars will be open to the public, and there’ll be a barbecue on the beach outside the sailing club.
