Women in Harmony - raising money for Brightlingsea Foodbank

A concert by the Women in Harmony choir raised just under £924 for Brightlingsea Foodbank – and brought in donations of food and essentials weighing a total of 130kg.

Sunday’s (July 10) concert in St James’ Church saw the 40-strong choir, led by Alison Benz, perform in front of an audience of around 100 – which had been asked to bring something that would be of use to the foodbank.

Foodbank co-ordinator Win Pomroy gave a short talk about the work of the foodbank and thanked those attending for their donations. Over half of the money raised was dropped into buckets as members of the audience left the church.
