Revue looks to celebrate 45 years of Brightlingsea’s musical theatre

It’s 45 years since Brightlingsea Operatic Group performed its first show in the town – Gilbert & Sullivan’s Trial by Jury*.

Now the group – which changed its name to the Brightlingsea Musical Theatre Group a few years ago – is inviting former members to perform in a 45th Anniversary Revue to be held in Brightlingsea Community Centre on November 22.

The Revue will consist of two halves:  ‘memories’, where past performers can reprise a song  from a previous show, and ‘dreams’, where current and former members will be invited to submit a song from a show they would like to see the group perform in future.

Potential performers are asked to record a video of their chosen number – only a verse and chorus is required– along with contact details and a list of BMTG or BOG’s shows performed and roles played.

Entries should be emailed to [email protected] by August 3. Rehearsals begin on Monday September 1 for selected soloists and Wednesday September  3 for chorus numbers.
