If you want to vote to vote by post in local elections scheduled for May 7 2026, now’s the time to get your application in.
Postal vote arrangements now last for a maximum of three years; but residents can apply at any time. Letters have been sent out to those needing to re-apply.
Tendring residents who have registered will be sent a ballot paper in advance of the election, which can be returned it in a pre-paid envelope provided.
Ian Davidson, Electoral Registration Officer for Tendring, said: “Some existing postal voters will also need to renew their arrangements under new rules, so if you’ve received a letter from us, please take action to keep your postal vote in place.”
Applications for a postal vote can be made online through the national portal at https://www.gov.uk/apply-postal-vote using your National Insurance number and a signature image.
