Scandi-style soul searching and a lot of laughter are promised at once-only performance of a radio play, part of Brightlingsea WinterFest’s run of February events.

The live performance of “I Love IKEA,” in the Colne Yacht Club on Saturday, February 28, has been written by Lawrence Quilty and is directed by Chrissie Richards, with actors from the Brightlingsea Panto Group.

With sound effects created by Spencer Richards, the witty and heartfelt production tells the story of a man whose life is slowly unravelling — until he discovers the IKEA catalogue. What follows is retail therapy writ large: will he find his nirvana in flatpack furniture, or will it all collapse around him?

The play is followed by a lively singalong of ABBA’s best-loved hits, ABBA Dabba Do!

The show starts at 7.30pm – doors at 7pm – and there’s a suggested donation of £8 on the door.
