Essex fund launched to help tackle anti-social behaviour

A £300,000 fund has been launched in Essex to help fund local initiatives to prevent and tackle crime and anti-social behaviour.

The 2024/25 Community Safety Development Fund (CSDF) has been opened by Roger Hirst,  the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for Essex (PFCC).

He said: “We are committed to working with our local voluntary and community sector partners to deliver on the ambitions of the Police and Crime Plan to keep our communities safe.”

Projects that could be suitable include those that are:

  • Driving down ASB (anti-social behaviour) and crime
  • Beating knife crime and drugs
  • Protecting the vulnerable
  • Tackling domestic abuse
  • Improving road safety and reduce road death in Essex to zero

Applications will be considered through two funding rounds. The first closes on September 1, and the second opens on December 1 and closes on February 2, 2025. More details and application forms can be found here.
