Want to get out on the water? Brightlingsea’s Colne Yacht Club is to host a Discover Sailing session to give novices a taste of what it’s like to go sailing.

The winner of the Royal Yachting Association’s Active Club of the Year award in 2024, the Waterside club runs a comprehensive training programme designed to make sailing accessible to all. Courses can be tailored for complete novices or seasoned racers. It’s Women on Water programme has been successful in attracting more women to the sport.

The club is open to new members of all backgrounds – with no need to own a boat – with a variety of membership options to suit different interests and lifestyles.

The Discover Sailing event takes place on Sunday, June 1 and there are also RYA-accredited training courses running on June, 8, 9 and 10. To book a place, email [email protected] or see the club’s website for further information.
