Brightlingsea Foodbank thanks volunteers

Brightlingsea Foodbank has thanked all the volunteers who helped set up and run the organisation’s tea tent – and those who made cakes and savouries to sell – at the Brightlingsea Free Music Festival last weekend.

Foodbank organiser Win Pomroy said: “Considering the awful weather on Saturday 7th August and the odd hitches that were sent to try us, it wasn’t too bad a day! Everyone was cheerful, the tea urns were bubbling, sandwiches made, rain dripping down our necks, but everyone was cheerful. Sunday 8th  was a much better day and by the end we had sold every cream tea, every cake and every sandwich made! The atmosphere was so good – everyone was glad to be out and about again.”
