Pioneering surgeons will be among speakers and volunteer groups taking part.

The event will feature talks by Fellows of the Royal College of Surgeons about their work in paediatric transplant surgery, how neurosurgery can help stroke patients, pioneering oncoplastic breast surgery, and plastic surgery techniques. There will also be a talk about the history and heritage of surgery.

Local volunteer groups that are connected with health and wellbeing have been invited to attend, and all the speakers will be available for discussions with members of the public during breaks from proceedings. The NHS Open Road SOS bus is also expected.
