Brightlingsea Foodbank have been running the tea tent at the Brightlingsea Free Music Festival for 8+ years now. It is one of our main fund raisers . We have a very supportive ‘army’ of bakers and confectioners who bake an amazing array of cakes, cookies and savoury products. We try to cater for our vegan and vegetarian followers

The Music Festival organisers help us so much, making sure that our water supplies never run low and there is always someone on hand to lift anything heavy for us. It is a pleasure to be associated with them.

We open officially at 11.30 a.m. – 12noon on both weekend days, closing at around 18:00 on the Saturday and anywhere between 17:00 to 19:00 on the Sunday. It is a full-on, busy, busy weekend, but well worth the effort as we all have a good time whilst raising much needed money for Brightlingsea’s busy Foodbank.

We started off with a big ? mark next to our name, as the community were not convinced we needed a charity like this. The intervening years have shown that we do! We will be 10 years old in December this year and have helped many desperate individuals and families through whatever crisis has befallen them. and it has been a privilege to do so!
