Join in the ancient ceremony of beating of the boundaries of the Cinque Port Liberty of Brightlingsea – the Blessing and Reclaiming of the Waters.
This year the procession will be assembling at St James at 12.00 noon, due to set off about 12.15pm & arriving at the Hard about 12.25pm.
The Motley Crew will be singing shanties on the Hard prior to the service at 12.30pm.
Smacks and other vessels will set off at 1.30pm from the jetty, returning at 2.30pm.
