Brightlingsea & District Rotary Club focuses on supporting local charities and good causes. The club meets approximately fortnightly over drinks and a meal and to discuss plans for forthcoming fundraising events, disbursement of funds to appropriate causes and for social fun and occasional talks, outside visits and activities.
Amongst the local events run each year by the club are Santa’s Sleigh runs which visit the street of Brightlingsea and the surrounding villages each December, the Brightlingsea Jog Walk Run in September (raising fund for the Air Ambulance), the legendary Welly Wanging at the annual Town Show, and the annual Rotary Quiz each May. We also support a number of other events and organisations in the town throughout the year.
