When Rivers Meet triumph in rock awards
Rising Brightlingsea-based blues-rock stars When Rivers Meet have triumphed in the 2022 Planet Rock radio's The Rocks awards - with fans voting them the best in two categories.
The husband-and-wife team of Grace and Aaron Bond topped the polls in the Blues Power category, while their latest album, Saving Grace, beat rock legends Iron Maiden into second place for Best Album. Iron Maiden and Foo Fighters were the only other bands to take two awards.
Last year Planet Rock fans voted When Rivers Meet the Best New Band. Currently part-way through their 17-date Flying Free UK tour, the couple recorded a special performance of "Did I Break the Law" for the online awards ceremony - see it here, 16 minutes and 45 seconds in.
