Town on a mission to find missing cat Max
Max, Brightlingsea's most famous feline has gone missing – and there's a cash reward for anyone who finds him.
Well known to residents and visitors alike, particularly around the promenade, Max hasn't been seen since the weekend and his owner Georgie Dunt is worried that he may have climbed into a car – not for the first time – of a visitor to the town's Regatta and been taken out of town. She's urging anyone who was in the town over the weekend to check boots, boats, sheds and garages to see if he's there.
Last year Max ended up in Luton after befriending a family staying on the Lakeside Caravan Park. They thought he was a stray and took him home, only discovering that he was lost when a vet scanned his chip. Recently he had a narrow escape after being hit by a car, but made a full recovery and was soon to be found making friends and curling up in cosy corners of beach huts, the Lido, people's houses, cars and even Bateman's Tower.
If anyone spots him, Georgie can be contacted via the Facebook page Max's Missions.
